This Woman Has Vowed To Take Care Of Goats For The REST Of Her Life!

We don’t feature goats too often in Viral, not only because they’re not exactly the cutest breed around, but because you’re just not going to see a lot of goat stories out there aside from somebody (deservedly) getting head butted or kicked in the face. However, today’s story from me is going to be one of compassion and love towards these majestic animals, and it all revolves around a goat herder named Johanna Bergmann Porvaldsdottir.

Hailing from Haafell, Iceland, this woman has spent more than a decade taking care of goats on her farm, and aims to keep the population alive for as long as possible. In the video below, you get to see footage of her breeding rare species of goats that are known to have numbers below 100. It’s a lot of hard work to take care of the 350 goats that are stationed in her farm, but her passion is what allows her to overcome the hardships and press on! You’ll get to know her and her mission as she talks about her vision with her work.

“I’m very proud to look at my flocks and see that they are alive because of my work. It’s just like when you have children, you are proud of them; I’m very proud of my goats,” says Johanna.
