THROWBACK THURSDAY: Ray Charles Sings “Rudolph” Back In 2002!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock during the 2000s, then you probably have a good idea of who Ray Charles is. He was a soul music artist who took off in the 50s and has kept an amazing streak of musicianship and talent going on since that point in his life. Whether it’s his amazing blues renditions of standard songs, or his own shot at original music, this man could do no wrong!

But wait…Christmas music? You wouldn’t think that its a genre that could possibly work in the favour of this great icon! But then again, great icons can take anything and make magic happen, and that’s exactly what he did with his rendition of “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer”.

Backed by the Voices of Jubilation Choir, he was able to put on a phenomenal show for the audience! And you know what else? He was able to do it with the same visor and spirit that he has always had since he started playing the piano.

Tragically, he passed away a year after this performance, but that doesn’t stop people from listening to his music and playing tributes to the phenomenal career that he had!
